Preserving Paradise 2024

The Crane Lake Association is pleased to present the 2024 Edition of “Preserving Paradise – A Guide to Life On Crane Lake” (last published in 2017). If you didn’t receive your copy of the Guide at our recent AGM, we are holding dock pick-up times this summer. This document is free to CLA members and $20 for non-members (free if you decide to join this year). We also have an updated “Emergency Information” sheet for your cottage wall.

Fire Notification List

Sign up for the Crane Lake Fire Notification List! When a 911 call is placed for a fire incident on Crane Lake, Seguin Fire Services is notified (who provide fire support to Crane Lake under a contract with the Township of the Archipelago). At the same time, a mass notification is sent out by a company called Northern911 to anyone who has signed up to receive these notifications.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

September 30th in Canada marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, honouring children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. We encourage the Crane Lake community to wear orange clothing on September 30th to recognize this date of commemoration and shared reflection. Resources are also provided by the GBR for more learning opportunities.

Fire Rating High

With just over a week before the Victoria Day long weekend, please note the Fire Rating in the Township of the Archipelago (Crane Lake) has been elevated to “High” because of the dry conditions. Campfires and Fireworks are prohibited during this Rating. Please keep an eye on the Fire Rating as you plan for your long weekend at the lake.

Fire & Water Safety Flyer

The Crane Lake Association has developed a simple Fire Safety brochure which we suggest you print out and post in a prominent place in your cottage. This is a great refresher for owners and invaluable information for guests and cottage renters. As a bonus we’ve added Water Safety tips to this brochure as well.
